ABET Communication Level 1 Communication up to National Equivalency of Grade 3 THIS Begin to learn to write, copy letters from the alphabet, write a few words or sentences, read & understand words that are used often, guess words that are appropriate to a certain situation, speak in situations which are familiar, e.g. greetings, directions, asking simple questions, listening & understanding easy words & sentences.
ABET Numeracy Level 1 THIS Numeracy patterns, rounding off, estimations, addition & subtraction, sharing & grouping, basic functions, numbers 0 ‐ 1000, time, shapes, reading a bar graph.
ABET Communication Level 3 Communication up to National Equivalency of Grade 7 THIS Write for different reasons, give facts & some details, spelling, ensure punctuation & grammar is used correctly, plan writing activities, read longer pieces of writing, understanding the differences between facts & opinions, understanding different styles of writing, speak with more confidence, using intonation.

  • Write phrases & simple sentences, write for different reasons, make use of correct grammar most of the time, read & understand short, simple pieces of writing, read charts & diagrams, use different ways to understand new words, use an English dictionary correctly, use punctuation correctly. Assist with reading & conducting conversations in simple situations.
